Kew Gardens.... again

We took advantage of London's last summer day probably and went out to Kew Gardens... the gardens looked a lot different to our last visit in Winter (as you'd expect), with lots of lovely flowers, trees and bushes...

Devon, England

Yvonne and Murray
The famous bridge that Simon & Garfunkel wrote 'Bridge over troubled water' about... it's in a little town called Tiverton.
An early morning of feeding Des' horses on the farm

We hired a car and drove south of England on Friday to Devon. The most gorgeous country side we have ever seen. Lots of rolling fields, farms and cute little villages with nothing but thatched roofs...

We went to stay in a little town near Barnstaple with Simon's relatives. Now that we know where to go, we'll surely be going back. So nice to wake up in the country to the sound of horses and chickens - and no ambulances and police screaming around the corner.

Afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental

Simon with his scone and jam

On Sunday afternoon we went to Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge for afternoon tea. Oh my gosh... this is where the ladies of London with rich husbands spend their afternoons... £33 each for champagne, fine sandwiches, cakes, cakes and more cakes with 100 different flavors of tea to drink with your little finger lifted. We spent hours sitting there looking over Hyde Park and eating way too much. Soooooo good though!

Simon's parents arrived in London on Friday. They are world travellers now because this is there second time here since we have lived here! Spent the weekend at camden markets, speakers corner in Hyde Park and lots of drinking and eating! Luckily, the weather has been really hot... they can't believe London can get this hot!
