Berlin Zoo

Wow - the best zoo in the world I say! Very nice enclosure for all the animals... so much space and every animal you can think of. We were lucky to have sensational weather as well, which made it not too cold :-)

An image of Lenin leftover from cold war days in the Eastern side of Berlin. This is the only image we came across like this...
The wall that separated the West from the East
Around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie was this memorial with a time line history of all the events from 1930's in Germany. Through the construction of the wall to the current day.

This is what a flight on Easy Jet is like... you queue outside in the cold before you fight for a seat on the plane!

We went to Berlin for a short weekend trip away to learn about the history and indulge in the German sausage and beer. Was a nice weekend, but also very sad to see and hear about the terrifying truth of what happened. You can read all about it ten times, but it somehow feels very different when you are there....

The Germans were extremely helpful and would come up to us when we were looking confused and ask if they could help... very different to the French!

We were lucky to have gorgeous weather both days and the temperature was pretty good... a high of 3 degrees!
