Stockholm, Sweden

The changing of the guard at the Swedish Royal Palace
Don't think this house will be getting any water through their pipes...
One of the many beautiful cobbled streets in the Old Town
Our hotel was called Birger Jarl so we had to take this shot :)
Our boat ride around a few of the islands in Stockholm
We flew into a -4 degree temperature on Friday night and thought that would be the coldest! Well, were we wrong or what!!!!!! It got down to -10 the following day with a wind chill that nearly put icicles on my face! Our coats are soooooo warm, but even these puppies didn't save us... after walking the city for about two hours, we were in need of a drink just to get warm.

Apparently this was the warmest winter that Sweden has experienced in 250 years, but this meant we never saw the sea covered in ice, although there was a bit on the top each morning... and snow that on the roads that just wasn't melting...

To keep us warm we ate loads of the Swedish meatballs and their beautiful fresh fish...

Looks a very pristine city but icy! Where are all the people? Or were you the only tourists out and about?
